Your Role

We are seeking an experienced structural/mechanical model and detail checker to join our team of highly motivated and friendly staff. We are offering a permanent full-time position with great working conditions and regular overtime. You will be engaged on an array of major mining, commercial and infrastructure projects with a business that prides itself on the delivery of fabrication models and drawings to the highest industry standards. Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Review mechanical and structural models, concepts, and designs from Engineers or Multiplan drafters to ensure that they meet all technical specifications and national standards.
  • Identify technical issues and suggest solutions.
  • Check and approve engineering drawings for: technical completeness, clarity, conformance with standards, dimensional accuracy and the correct specification of materials and processes.
  • Assist the Principal modeller/drafter with promoting and developing a generally higher level of engineering skills across the team, through participation in mentoring and group training activities where required.

About You

You are a motivated and driven individual with a solid engineering background, a desire to share your experience and talent to achieve the best outcomes for the team. You are methodical and thorough, with attention to detail. You possess good communication and collaboration skills.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience on Australian mining & industrial projects
  • Checking of structural, mechanical and platework models and drawings
  • Good knowledge of Australian standards and fabrication principals
  • Good computer skills and proficient with Advance Steel, Prosteel or Tekla.

Qualifications:

Minimum Certificate or Diploma in Structural/Mechanical Engineering Drafting
